Early childhood education classes did not help me write my book. They taught me how to teach in a classroom, not teach as a parent. The classes did not teach parenting skills. One must teach life’s values on one’s own. I was lucky. I had a loving family that instilled life’s values into me, starting at an early age. Life’s rules, society’s rules, parental rules are not taught in early childhood education. Today’s teachers may not even give a hug…..
In today’s whirlwind lifestyle of working parents, birthday parties, dental and doctor appointments and after school activities, children lose their sense of wonder! We as parents need them to grow slowly, not push them into growing up so fast. They spin and twirl another day, another week, another month and another year.
